As part of our commitment to raising awareness and providing support, we’re proud to partner Rutland County Council with the Cut It Out campaign. This initiative aims to train professionals with trusted, one-on-one relationships with their clients—such as hairdressers and beauty therapists, to recognise the signs of abuse and offer a safe space for victims to share their situation.

At Freeva, we truly understand how overwhelming and isolating domestic abuse can be. You don’t have to face this journey alone. We are here to listen, offer support, and guide you toward a future filled with safety and hope. Your well-being matters to us, and we’re committed to helping you find the strength and resources you need to rebuild your life.
Kerri McAuley’s Story: Why This Work Matters
The Cut It Out campaign was inspired by the tragic story of Kerri McAuley, who was brutally murdered in 2017 by her abusive partner. Before her death, Kerri confided in her hairdresser about the abuse she was experiencing. Tragically, the seriousness of her situation wasn’t fully understood, and Kerri didn’t receive the help she needed.
Her story reminds us of the importance of being there for victims—whether as a friend, family member, or trusted professional—and ensuring they have access to the right support.
