Ready to turn your miles into something that matters?
This October, we’re building Team Freeva for Run Leicester 2026, and we’re looking for runners from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to join us.
Whether you run every weekend, have always fancied taking on your first 10K, or the words “half marathon” currently make you question your life choices, we’d love to hear from you.
Run Leicester 2026 takes place on Sunday 11 October, bringing thousands of runners, supporters and spectators together for one of Leicester’s biggest running events.
This year, you could be on that start line wearing your Freeva colours and running for something much bigger than a finish time.
Choose Your Challenge
The brilliant thing about Run Leicester is that you have two challenges to choose from:
Run Leicester 10K – A fantastic option if you’re new to running, looking for your next goal or simply fancy taking on the run with Team Freeva.
Run Leicester Half Marathon – 13.1 miles through the heart of the city for anyone ready to go that little bit further.
Both races start and finish at Victoria Park, with the routes taking runners through the city and past some familiar Leicester sights.
There will be crowds, entertainment, plenty of encouragement and, almost certainly, a moment somewhere along the route when you wonder why you signed up.
That’s where remembering who you’re running for comes in.
Run for Change. Run for Freeva.
Freeva provides specialist domestic abuse and sexual violence support across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Every day, people across our communities reach out for help.
Some are looking for advice.
Some need someone to listen.
Some are trying to find safety.
Some are beginning to rebuild their lives after abuse.
And some simply need to hear that support is there when they are ready.
By joining Team Freeva at Run Leicester 2026, you can help us continue providing vital domestic abuse and sexual violence services.
Every training run, every donation and every mile helps raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence while generating vital funds to support our work.
You do the running. We’ll be cheering you all the way.
Your Miles Can Make a Difference
Fundraising for Freeva helps us provide specialist domestic abuse and sexual violence support across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, including our domestic abuse helpline, specialist sexual violence services, counselling and emotional support, services for children and young people, and programmes supporting people who want to change harmful behaviours.
Your fundraising can help us be there when somebody needs support.
And you don’t need to raise thousands of pounds to make a difference.
- £10 could provide an emergency toiletries bag for someone fleeing abuse.
- £15 could help provide specialist resources for neurodivergent children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse.
- £20 could contribute towards additional Helpline staffing hours, helping us answer more calls from people who need support.
- £25 could help fund a counselling session, providing a safe space for someone to begin processing their experiences.
- £50 could help provide one-to-one support for a young person experiencing an unhealthy relationship.
Put together, those donations can have a very real impact here in our local communities.
Leicester, This One Is Ours
There is something special about taking part in an event on home ground.
Your family could be waiting along the route. Your colleagues might appear with a slightly embarrassing homemade sign. Someone you know might be handing you water.
And when you cross that finish line at Victoria Park, you’ll know the money you’ve raised is helping a charity supporting people right here across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
That makes every mile mean a little more.
Never Run a Race Before? You’re Still Invited.
Please don’t read “Run Leicester” and assume Team Freeva is only looking for serious runners. We’re not.
- The enthusiastic beginners.
- The Couch to 10K hopefuls.
- The “I haven’t run since school” runners.
- The friends who somehow talk each other into signing up.
- The colleagues looking for a team challenge.
- The experienced runners chasing a personal best.
- And the people who simply want to do something positive for their local community.
You have time to train, and having a date in the diary is a pretty good reason to finally dig those trainers out of the cupboard.
