Run For Change 2025

This October, 18 amazing runners are lacing up their trainers to take on Run Leicester 2025 in support of Freeva. Every mile they cover is about more than just fitness – it’s about raising vital funds so we can continue to provide life-saving services to those affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

You can cheer our team on, share their fundraising page, and most importantly – donate. Every gift, big or small, makes a huge difference. You can support the team here: 👉 Donate on GiveMatch

Why We’re Running

One of our runners shared their personal motivation for joining the team:

*“Freeva personally helped me a few years ago. Their support, care, and understanding were exceptional during this particularly tough time. That’s why I’ll be raising money for Freeva, to say thank you and to help strive for a world free from violence and abuse.

Training for 13.1 miles is a challenge, but is nothing compared to what so many people are experiencing. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me – and help Freeva continue their essential work.”*

Their words sum up why this race matters so much – every step is for someone who needs safety, support, and hope.

Join the Team

We already have 18 runners signed up, but there’s still space for more! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a new challenge, we’d love you to join Team Freeva. You’ll get the support of a community that’s running with purpose – and you’ll be raising funds that genuinely change lives.

How Your Donation Makes a Difference

Your support helps to fund:

  • Crisis Support Helpline – A lifeline for anyone in urgent need of safety and advice.
  • Sexual Violence Support – Providing advocacy and emotional support for victims-survivors of sexual violence.
  • Counselling & Emotional Support – Helping victims-survivors process trauma and regain confidence.
  • Change Programmes – Working with those who use abuse to change their behaviours and break the cycle.
  • Education & Prevention Programmes – Empowering young people with the knowledge to build healthy, respectful relationships.

How Your Donation Helps

💜 £5 – Pays for a personal safety alarm, or door/window alarms, to help a survivor feel safer at home – a small gift, a huge difference.
💜 £10 – Provides an emergency toiletries bag for someone fleeing abuse – because no one should have to leave everything behind.
💜 £15 – Funds resources for children and young people with Neurodiversity who have experienced sexual abuse – because everyone deserves access to support.
💜 £20 – Adds crucial staffing hours so more calls can be answered on the Helpline – making sure no one feels alone in their time of need.
💜 £25 – Covers the cost of a counselling session – offering a safe space to begin healing.
💜 £50 – Funds one-to-one support for a young person struggling with unhealthy relationships – helping them build a safer future.
